Biography
Annette Whitaker Everett was raised in Spokane Washington. She received her art education at Brigham Young University (1968–1971), the University of Utah (1971-1972), the Art Academy of Cincinnati (1985), with her education continuing in numerous university classes and professional workshops. In 1997, Annette established BRUSHWORKS Fine Art Studio & Gallery with fellow-artists and friends. This became a classroom, workshop, clubhouse and creative sanctuary for Southern Utah artists and their many students. Annette has been a teacher in her studio for many years. She paints in pastel and oil, creating traditional and representational landscapes, portraits, and still life. Annette sculpts in clay, both oil base and water-base, creating figurative pieces in bronze and fired clay. She began sculpting as an assistant to L’Deane Trueblood, where she participated in the design and completion of several monumental bronze works, including “Saint Clare” for the Saint Clare Catholic Hospital of Weston, Wisconsin, and “The Watermaster” in Saint George, Utah. December 2007, Annette’s sculpture, “Duet, Mary & Martha” was awarded “Best of Show” in a national competition sponsored by American Women Artists. April 2008, “The Sandman”, a life-size monument was placed and dedicated to the volunteers of the floods of 2005 in the Town Square of Saint George, Utah. May 2008, “The Volunteer”, a life-size monument honoring volunteer firemen was placed at the Santa Clara City Office Building, Santa Clara City, Utah
